TARA-TANZANIA
Tanzania Association of Radiographers (TARA) has done several activities and celebrated some critical events.
The Government of Tanzania also contributes much to the growth of Radiography and the high availability of radiology services in Tanzania.
On July, 2023, TARA in collaboration with Afya Check of Clouds FM and partnership with the office of the Regional Commissioner of Dar essalaam has been conducting a free annual health check where the Tanzania Association of Radiographers (TARA) was participating to provide free ultrasound screening.
The campaign was done for all five local government authorities (Municipals) of Dar es Salaam city and more than 2000 people were screened.

The Tanzania Association of Radiographers (TARA) successfully conducted its Annual General Meeting and Scientific Workshop in celebration of World Radiography Day at the EDEN Highland Hotel in Mbeya, Tanzania.
The theme for the event was “RADIOGRAPHY, The eye of medicine”. The first day began with an early arrival and registration, followed by a comprehensive scientific workshop. The sessions covered various topics such as education and training, case presentations, research, optimization, safety, and quality control in radiography. Notable presentations included advancements in radiation therapy by Mr. Kisia Newtone from Kenya, discussions on challenges facing radiography implementation in Africa, and a panel discussion on challenges confronting the radiography profession in Tanzania.
The second day commenced with the Annual General Meeting, where the executive committee, regional representatives, paid-up TARA members, and observers gathered to discuss the organization’s affairs. The event also featured discussions on the global status and development of radiography and radiological services, presented by Mr. Adam Zubery, ISRRT Coordinator. The day concluded with a celebration of World Radiography Day, featuring Dr. Tulia Ackson, Speaker of the Parliament of the Republic of Tanzania, as the guest of honour.
