Call for the Chesney Research Grant Application 2021
Theme: The role of the radiographer in patient care
Dear ISRRT Society-Members,
I am in the pleasant situation to announce to you all the ISRRT Chesney Research Fund for the year 2021. The aim of the ISRRT Research Fund is to promote research that helps improve the standards of delivery and practice of medical imaging and/or radiotherapy as well as to encourage evidence-based practice.
Theme: The role of the radiographer in patient care
Around this theme, you and your colleagues are invited to submit a research proposal.
Bids may include new methodology and modification to standard protocols and procedures which may result in a sustainable or improved quality service in the respective discipline of medical imaging and radiation therapy. Applications with other themes are also welcome but priority will be given to applications following the proposed theme for 2021.
The ISRRT Research Fund was set up in 2009 and a research proposal was funded the first time in 2010. Starting 2016 to commemorate the Chesney sisters https://www.isrrt.org/chesney-isrrt-research-fund who left in their will a legacy to ISRRT we will name the ISRRT Research Award as the ISRRT Chesney Research Fund.
The grant is £1500 for 1-year and £3000 for 2-year projects. Full details of the Research Fund Guidelines can be found on the https://www.isrrt.org/guidlines and application form can be downloaded from https://www.isrrt.org/application-form-research-fund
The closing date for submission of grant application is 30 July 2021. Funding decision will be announced by late October 2021.
I would be grateful if you could promulgate the invitation message to members of your societies. This call for application is also available in the ISRRT website and FB page.
Yours faithfully,
Dimitris Katsifarakis, CEO -ISRRT
