  • ISRRT agreement of co-operation with EFRS

    Press Release

At a meeting that took place during the 2013 European Congress of Radiology in Vienna, Austria, an historic agreement of co-operation was signed between the International Society of Radiographers and Radiological Technologists (ISRRT) and the European Federation of Radiographer Societies (EFRS).  This agreement was signed by ISRRT President, Dr. Michael Ward and EFRS President, Professor Graciano Paulo in the presence of their respective CEO's Dr. Alexander Yule and Ms. Dorien Pronk-Larive and members of the Board of both societies.

    • It is recognised that the well established structure and functions of the ISRRT achieve great benefits for the profession and for the public on a world-wide scale. The focus on interaction with international NGOs such as the World Health Organisation and the International Atomic Energy Agency brings a level of influence and reputational benefit that would be unachievable by individual societies or groups of societies.

    • The formation of the EFRS has enabled the radiography profession to have considerably improved engagement with European organizations. The federation has developed a self contained and well governed work programme that brings significant benefit to member societies and to patient care within Europe.

This co-operation agreement recognises the shared purpose and intentions of both organisations and sets out how working together can bring mutual benefit and emphasises the common objective to promote the profession of radiography.

The combined influence that is formalised in the agreement is of importance and benefit to our profession both at the international level and within Europe.
