Full time positions are currently available at Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital for suitably qualified radiation therapists. 

·      Salary packaging and 9% superannuation are both additional to the above salary rates

Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital is a fully accredited teaching hospital located just minutes from Perth's CBD, near the magnificent Kings Park in Nedlands Western Australia. SCGH is home to Western Australia's only public comprehensive cancer centre - the largest cancer treatment centre in the State. With 6 Varian linear accelerators (2 with OBI, 1 with CBCT and 1 with ExacTRAC), XiO and Monaco planning systems, Toshiba wide bore CT scanner and ARIA oncology information system, we are involved in treating a variety of cancer patients and are the sole providers of paediatric radiotherapy in WA. Other specialist techniques include stereotactic radiosurgery, HDR and LDR brachytherapy, IGRT and IMRT. We have a strong educational program and enjoy training both undergrad and postgrad students as well as PDYs. Opportunities to participate in research are abundant with 2 rotating Research RT positions since 1999 permitting over 20 RTs to pursue and achieve their own career goals. SCGH treats over 2,200 new courses each year and we aim to provide a compassionate and expert radiotherapy service to the people of WA.

Job Description:  You will be working as a competent practitioner, exercising professional judgement providing a high level of patient care as part of a multidisciplinary team. You will be working across all areas of radiation oncology performing localisation, planning and delivering radiation treatment. You will have a tertiary qualification in Radiation Therapy and be eligible for registration with the Medical Radiation Technologists Board of WA and licensing with the WA Radiological Council. You will also need to be eligible for full accreditation with the Australian Institute of Radiography (AIR).

Job Description: Applications are invited for experienced and suitably qualified Radiation Therapists to thrive in a Senior Radiation Therapist role. You will be responsible for managing and ensuring the effective operation of a treatment unit and at times assist in the planning area. In this role you will lead a team to provide a quality radiation therapy service with compassion and caring to cancer patients in WA.

The successful applicant will have relevant experience in Radiation Therapy, the ability to lead and motivate staff, whilst showing drive, enthusiasm and initiative.  Excellent communication and organisational skills are essential. You will have a tertiary qualification in Radiation Therapy and be eligible for registration with the Medical Radiation Technologists Board of WA and licensing with the Radiological Council WA.
