Lecture given by Dr Michael Ward to ECR registrants
Founding meeting of the International Historical Society (ISHRASD). This is a new Society set up to record the history of all matters related to Radiology and Radiography and will be based in
ECR Presidents Dinner. Attended by Dr Michael Ward and Dr Alexander Yule.

Sunday 6th March. Staffing booth all day and meeting exhibitors (
Meeting with European Society of Radiographers (ESR) and the European Federation of Radiographer Societies (EFRS).
Main discussions centred around future co-operation between the organisation. Minutes will be produced by ESR and circulated.
Meeting with ISR.
Items discussed included future co-operation and the involvement of ISRRT in ICR 2012. This was a very positive meeting and a full report will be made to Board.
GE Healthcare.
Dr Michael Ward and Dr Alexander Yule met with Mr Philip Haldar, Manager GE Healthcare. Mr Haldar assured us of the continuing support of his company and in addition is investigating possible support for the workshops already identified by the ISRRT in
Carestream.
Dr Michael Ward, Mr Stewart, Mr Dimitris Katsafarakis and Dr Alexander Yule met with the CEO of Carestream, Mr Kevin Hobart, who expressed his support for future co-operation. He also indicated that Carestream may attend the 2012 World Congress as an exhibitor.

British Institute of Radiology (BIR)
Contact was made with Dr Stephen Davies, President of BIR and Consultant
Radiologist and also Jacqueline Fowler, CEO of BIR.
Meeting of the International Radiation Quality Network (IRQN)
The ISRRT is a founding member of this organisation and remains as a key player in all its activities.
Dr Michael Ward and Dr Alexander Yule were in attendance. Minutes are being produced by IRQN and will be circulated to Board members.
Dr Alexander Yule moderated session for radiographers on radiographic practice in operating theatres.

Meeting with International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA).

Dr Rehani had just returned to his office from attending the Conference of the South African Radiographers. He was very complimentary regarding the event.
Continuing co-operation between IAEA and ISRRT was discussed including the provision of workshops.

In particular co-operation in respect of the World Congress. For the ISRRT Congress in the Gold Coast the IAEA agreed to sponsor eleven speakers but unfortunately due to time constraints they were not all able to attend.
The President, Dr Michael Ward, wishes to express his thanks to Mrs Alison Yule for all her help in the staffing of the booth during the meetings attended by the ISRRT officers.
