12/12/2007

ZIMBABWE RADIOGRAPHERS GROUP UK (ZRUK)

SUMMARY OF MEETING HELD LEICESTER GENERAL HOSPITAL ON THE 1ST DECEMBER 2007.

The meeting was well attended and despite the late starting everyone enjoyed and contributed much.

Above: Mrs Maphosa and members of ZRUK

Phillip Musiiwa welcomed the participants and chaired the meeting.

The main issues discussed from were:

1.Equipment and consumables.

The group decided that more communication with Zimbabwe at hospital or district level is required before we can consider sending donations.

2.Registration of the group as an organisation.

We need to set time and membership targets.

Meanwhile an aggressive membership drive is essential.

3.Fund raising for x-ray operator training in the provinces.

Members were informed of the present situation with the training programmes.

The cost of books, teaching aids and shipment is estimated at £800.00.

Several suggestions of how to raise funds were offered. The book committee will act on the recommendations.

Some participants are considering writing a technique manual suitable for the X-ray Operator working at a District Hospital.
